I&#8217;m in the middle of watching the first season of <em>Doctor Who<\/em> from 1963-4 and, while I make great use of both the first volume of <em>About Time<\/em> and <em>The Television Companion<\/em> &#8211; both of which I&#8217;ve owned for years! &#8211; the Production Diary gives an exhaustive, day-by-day account of how the show was made. I&#8217;ve had my eye on the book 600+ page book since I saw it earlier this year and only recently found a secondhand copy online.
